26th Annual Theta Breakers Run

Brief Description

The 26th Annual Theta Breakers Run for the Children is hosted by Stanford University's Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. It is a certified 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run through Stanford's beautiful campus and is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels. All of the proceeds from the event benefit Child Advocates of Silicon Valley.

Schedule

Race-day registration starts at 8:00AM. Warm-ups begin at 9:00AM, and races start at 9:30AM sharp. All participants are invited to join us for post-race awards, food, and giveaway prizes.

Course

The 5K and 10K courses are certified, paved, flat, fast loop courses. They begin outside the Stanford Stadium tour Stanford campus, and end in the Pac-10 Plaza by the Sunken Diamond Baseball Field.

Parking

Parking is available at the Track Stadium Parking Lot. (From El Camino Real, enter Stanford Campus on Galvez St. Turn left on Nelson Rd. and park in the lot on the right next to the Track.

Directions from Highway 101 North & South

Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. At El Camino Real, Embarcadero turns into Galvez Street as it enters the university. Stay in the left lane and turn left on Nelson Rd. Parking is available in the lot on the right, next to the Track.

Directions from Highway 280 North & South

Exit 280 at Sand Hill Road, heading east. Make a right turn on Santa Cruz Avenue, then a left turn onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue around Campus Drive East until you get to Galvez St. Turn right onto Galvez, and right on Nelson Rd. Parking is available in the lot on the right, next to the Track.

Directions from El Camino Real

Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Turn toward the hills (away from the center of Palo Alto). As you enter Stanford, University Avenue becomes Palm Drive. Go through one traffic light, and turn left onto Campus Drive at the first stop sign. Turn left at Galvez Street, the next stop sign. Parking is available in the lot on the right, next to the Track.

Public Transportation (Caltrain)

Caltrain is a commuter rail service that runs between Gilroy and San Francisco. Get off at the Palo Alto station. Note: The Stanford Free Shuttle (Marguerite) does not run on Sundays. From the Caltrain station in downtown Palo Alto, walk down Palm Drive towards campus. Turn left on Arboretum Rd, right on Galvez St, and finally left on Nelson Rd.
